“A side scrolling, exploration Hack-N’-Slash game in a 3D-Impressionist world, with a story that combines elements of Japanese mythology, game development, and the relationship between siblings.”

“Gameplaywise, we didn’t want to make a side scroller where enemies are just basically fodder, we drew inspiration from games such as Samurai Shodown and Dark Souls, and we took the Action and level structure of Mega Man X and Wario Land. Another important part of our gameplay is the notion of shaping the world around you. Bit, our main character, Bit has the ability to shape the world around him by manipulating pixels: create new paths, destroy obstacles, and power up his arsenal.”

Still in very early development for PC and PS4.

Slain!

developed by Wolfbrew Games, published by Digerati.

An old school hack and slash with an emphasis on dying in a satisfying horrible manner.   Play as the hero Bathoryn and battle your way through enemies and puzzles in a quest to liberate the seven great towers.

“At the heart of each tower, he must confront a mighty overlord. Defeat it and Bathoryn’s quest continues. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades.”
